Automakers cut investments, declare no-work days

Some of the biggest names in the auto industry have announced no-production days, laying off temporary staff and cutting down investment. Maruti Suzuki chairman said “around 3000 temporary workers have lost jobs with Maruti Suzuki.” ​Others such as Hero Motocorp, Ashok Leyland & TVS group companies have announced no-work days on Friday.​
