TCS wants to replace its temporary workers overseas with full-time employees to contain its soaring subcontracting expenses. Subcontracting expenses soared by 26% to Rs 11,330 crore in 2018-19. During the year, it hired 20,376 temporary/contract employees. This is one of the sharpest increases in the last five years.
